Pete Davidson had a lot to say about Kanye West last night on SNL, where he criticized the rapper’s Trump antics during his appearance last week as musical guest. But before Davidson gave his two cents, Ariana Grande seemed to back her fiancé with a subtle Insta story.
Grande, who followed the episode on TV, posted a video of Davidson during the opening credits along with a gif reading, “I love you like Kanye loves Kanye,” referring to Wests’ 2016 song “I love Kanye.”

Kanye’s narcissism has been especially under fire in recent weeks, with celebrities like Lana Del Rey and Chris Evans blasting West on social media. “I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level,” Del Rey wrote. “Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism—none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country.”
Later in the episode, Davidson would go on to recap Kanye’s surprise SNL pro-Trump speech, which he described as the “worst, most awkward thing.” The comedian, who has struggled with depression and anxiety, also called West a ‘jackass’ and urged him to take his medication. Following last night’s episode, Kanye deleted all his social media accounts.
Grande has also been very outspoken about her opposition to President Trump and isn’t afraid to show it. She said in the July issue of ELLE, “Not everyone is going to agree with you, but that doesn’t mean I’m just going to shut up and sing my songs. I’m also going to be a human being who cares about other human beings; to be an ally and use my privilege to help educate people.”
