Corey Calliet HIIT Workout | POPSUGAR Fitness


If you’re on a weight-loss journey and you love to work out, it can be hard to decide which kinds of workouts to actually do at the gym. How do you know what will be the most effective?

Corey Calliet, a Revenge Body trainer who helped shape Michael B. Jordan’s villainous body in Black Panther, has seen many new clients go through this uncomfortable phase . . . which is why he shared a workout with POPSUGAR for anyone out there who is willing to work up a sweat. Knowing that Corey also briefly worked with Angela Bassett while she was preparing for Black Panther, we asked him what kinds of exercises are best for women who want to lose weight.

“I would do a lot of plyometric and HIIT training,” he told us. “If you just want to try to stay toned and lean, I do a lot of different cardiovascular HIIT training movements.”

If you’re nodding your head in agreement right now, you’re in luck. Corey laid out the ultimate workout for those of you who want to get toned. Keep in mind, though, that there are quite a few plyometric movements in this workout, so this likely isn’t for you if you’re a total beginner or if you have any knee issues.

The Workout

There are four different movements you’ll go through. Do each for 30 seconds, then rest for 30 seconds. Repeat the entire circuit for a total of five rounds. Get ready to sweat!

“Doing those right there will get your heart rate up,” Corey said. “That’s pretty much a basic and easy type of HIIT training that you could do. It doesn’t have to be crazy. The easiest movements done consistently will really get you a good workout.”
