Kate Middleton Embroiled in a Bobble Hat Controversy



Kate Middleton is currently enjoying a royal tour of Sweden and Norway with Prince William, wearing a mix of casual outfits and some more formal evening ensembles. But Kensington Palace in London has been forced to intervene following controversy around one of Kate’s more casual looks.

Earlier in the week the royal couple visited a hockey team, wearing cute bobble hats and wrapping up against the cold.

Seeing the internet can quickly identify the exact items the Duchess is wearing, it wasn’t long before the public was expressing anger at her choice of hat.

It seemed as though the Duchess was wearing a bobble hat which is described as being made with real fur.

Kensington Palace has since reportedly responded to the backlash, ensuring us that the hat is actually faux.

Richard Palmer, a royal reported tweeted: “In spite of the Twitter outcry, Kensington Palace says the Duchess was not wearing fur on her bobble hat earlier. I believe the gloves are fake fur too and the coat shearling.”

The hat in question is designed by Eugenia Kim and the Palace insists Kate was wearing the faux fur, rather than the £240 ($339.90) real arctic fox hair version.
