Taylor Swift Sent the Most Extra Christmas Cards This Year


Taylor Swift’s 2017 comeback has been many things, but above all, it’s been snake-themed. From snake rings, to snake emblems on all of her merch, the snake emoji has defined Swift’s Reputation era. So it makes sense that even the Christmas cards she sent this year featured snakes.

Basically, while most people sent cards featuring Santa Claus, or snow scenes, Swift opted for something much more on brand:

In an Instagram story posted by Andrew Gertler, who is a music talent manager, Swift’s festive card choice was revealed. While the outside features an extremely Christmassy snake, inside the card reads, “May your reputation shine bright this holiday season! Love, Taylor.” Which is also, like, so on brand:

Swift adopted the snake imagery, and built it into her brand, following her fall out with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Famously, Kardashian shared a secret audio recording on Snapchat in July 2016, in which West phoned Swift to discuss his song “Famous,” which references the singer. While Swift seemed to approve the song in Kardashian’s audio recording, West never revealed that he would go on to refer to Swift as a “bitch” in following lyrics. Despite this, a backlash against Swift began, with many people sharing copious snake emojis on social media in response, inspired by Kardashian’s own snake filled tweet aimed at Swift:

But now, the tables have turned, and Swift most definitely owns the snake imagery that was once used against her. And who needs Santa, anyway?
